Shopping for a peep sight

After an extended chat with my brother (who's been bowhunting for years) I am now shopping for a peep sight.

Now we are looking at what peep sight and what will it cost me.

I went with a very cheap peep sight of what Quicks suggested and it makes such a big difference to shoot with a peep sight.

Review of "Hunting with Bow and arrow" by Saxton Pope

I've read about half of this book so far and its very interesting.... in the beginning of the book the author plays around to mix the perfect ambience of adventure...I felt myself crouching in the long grass next to the Indian with his face drawn tight and his ear to the wind sniffing out the deer. Or the rush of adrenaline when the Indian killed the bear.

The best quote so far....

"If you spot a deer, 10 of them have spotted you, make sure you spot them before they spot you..." brilliant!

The bow and arrow making goes into allot of detail - way too much for a beginner. But I believe it can come in very handy if you are stuck and need to arm yourself or need to survive/hunt.

The history of the Indians and the bow and arrow is very interesting and makes for a good background knowledge to anyone.

Arrow Poison
Ishi and his tribe use to tease a rattle snake and get it to bit into deer liver - this liver was then buried and this rotten compost was then use to smear on the arrow heads when hunting.

My 1st compound bow

I've searched for months to find the right compound bow as my first compound bow.
Finally I found one on Ebay. I remembered sitting in a restaurant and reminding Babe to bid.
